I always just aspired to be #2. Everybody else claimed the #1 spot. OBTW, what the heck is a LIMO ?

Just remember,

I think that that is more satisfying then whatever record deal ever.About a year ago. After 25 years, I played a little song and my wife came into the room and said " Sweetheart, that sounded great". I knew then I had arrived.
I played on more then 150 songs my wife recorded here in our studio.Karen wrote over 5200 songs but most of them were done a while back before I got to know her.
Some musicians over here come to a gig when I am filling in but the regulars (listeners) don't even know my name.
So...I am pretty famous in the neighborhood

It's going to be like waiting for a bus. You wait for hours and then three come along.James Cann wrote:Well, the long wait for the limo is over! Next week, they tell me!

Just got a gig for next Saturday ! Guess I made it !? Times are hard.
I will have to admit that after 20 years of not playing, the old band is having a good encore.
The people that followed us years ago are back.
I think COUNTRY MUSIC is coming back . People, in
my area, are tired of Tucker and ZZ.
Could be the tight money. The older croud are going to the club and not going to the beach !! Things are looking UP. Our book is getting full .

John, a Limo is short for Limousine, as in "Long Black Limousine". I never got to ride in the back of one, but I drove plenty of them as a funeral director. They are somewhat over rated. I had a family member ask me one time what kind of mileage they got. I told him about 21 MPG. That's 10 in town and 11 on the road.John P.Phillips wrote:I always just aspired to be #2. I no longer use limos. Since my red-hot country hit "I Dropped My Tone Bar Down My Underpants" set the charts alight I just use my Lear Jet and helicopter.Tony Prior wrote:I was told the Limo was on it's way, I stood outside waiting for 30 years, it never arrived, so I went back in the house and had lunch.
