Donna Hammitt Web Site
Hello, everyone!
I wanted to let you all know that I (finally!) updated my website. It has a new solo you can learn, songs added to the catalog, and even pictures of me playing steel in a wedding dress. You can see our new kiddo too. Hope you'll come take a look. It's at DonnaHammitt.com

Finally made it onto the site..................
Just listened to your wonderful performances......
For years, I've wondered what the differences might be in a specific tune.......played by a male and then a female steel player. Since you've attended a lot of instructional seminars and have been exposed to much of the same material the rest of us have, might it just be the way your brain (female) is wired that makes your styling so different, so tasteful and so markedly more enjoyable?
While many male players (NOT ALL!) seem to follow a set of trolly tracks....you can often anticipate almost what they're gonna play at this measure or that throughout a song.
YOU on the other hand......the majority of times insert some unique and totally unanticipated run or phrase.......not normally associated with any of the BIG NAME players that might have recorded the same song. This is exciting and refreshing and will certainly do much to keep the pedal steel alive and
fresh in the imagination of future players.
THANKS for sharing........
