The Association would appreciate if you plan on attending Saturday's show if you could bring some side dishes, such as veggies, desserts etc. Randy Stewart will be cooking the meat on his large BBQ smoker. We are not planning on cooking on Sunday.
Let's make this a fun time!

This is the toughest part! I've committed to attend the DSSGA Show that is also this weekend. DANG!!! Ya'll won't want to miss this 'mini' show with a grand line up of players...

Dennis - I'm so sad that I'll miss your set. Folks this guy is killer. And I find his right hand to be quite fascinating. He's one of those players that make everything look soooooo easy! DON'T MISS THIS SET!!! I'd pay 5 times the admission to hear Dennis play for 30 minutes...And his band is coming too? Make that 10 times the admission!!

Robby Springfield - I first heard him play at the Tulsa show. WOW! He had the audience captivated!! What an awesome player. Glad he's doing another show. Hopefully he'll start doing more.

Scotty Henderson - If you haven't heard Scotty play you're in for a REAL treat. It doesn't matter what he plays - Gospel, Jazz-a-billy, Swing or traditional Country music - it all comes out GREAT. AND he has so much fun playing! Is that Gospel CD ready yet?

If he'll take requests ask Jerry Roller to play his version of Easy Goin'. He did such a great job on it in Tulsa.

Austin, how are you coming along with The Waiting Room? Buck said you can contact him anytime if you have questions.

Gpa Newberry (& Gma)- Sure wish I could be there to see ya'll again. Hope all is well and that Jerry is being very good...Play a good one for TB and me okay?

Keith - Sorry I'm going to miss your set. You always find a way to get the audience smiling - sometimes bursting with laughter. I wonder what you have in store this time.

Gene - I'm not familiar with your playing and I regret not being able to hear you play. Hopefully I'll get another chance.

Hank - you done gone and planned another great show. Makes me wonder what's on tap for July!! Dang! I wish I could be there.

Have a great time folks! And somebody take good notes to share here for those of 'me' I mean US who cannot attend. Please?

Looking forward to my part of the show tomorrow. Jackie Wilson and Bob Scrivner came over lastnight and we went through the tunes we will play. I will be playing tunes I have never done at a show before. Tunes I have never heard anyone do on a show. Hope I don't crash and BURN. If I go up in flames it may be fun to watch me crash. Bob Scrivner is currently playing with the great Mike Mcgee, but I stold him for this show. Mike and Bob play a show together tonight. For those who expect Ray Price shuffles out of me, expect something different this time.

Keith, you humble me with your kind words. You know I love you like a brother. But there is NO way anyone can justify me as "great". In fact, I can't even get honorable mention on Lana's review list. Maybe everyone can go shopping at Tanger on my set.

:D Mike, don't sell yourself short. You are dangerous on either E9th or C6th. When I took your place at the Auction Barn a woman looked at my single neck guitar, and told me I was only half as good as you. She said Mike plays better than you and his guitar has twice as many strings.
Lana, thanks for being nice to me. This time I am not dressing up in my Dracula outfit. Although I know Scotty Henderson loves me in the Dracula outfit. I am white headed and my guitar player is white headed--BUT--I can assure you of one thing, Blond's do have more fun.

Keith I'll miss you outfit but I know you'll put on a great show!
Thanks for the Kudos Lana

I'd like to say thanks to Hank and all the crew, the band...you guys did great, and Jerry for the use of the rig to play on. Special thanks to Keith Hilton for fixing my volume pedal problem. And last but certainly not least, thanks to all the folks that showed up at the show.

Austin just amazed me again. Where does all of that come from in such a young man...great job Austin.

Robby, you are one of the best players I have ever heard, and I have heard all the great players. You play everything great. What I espically took notice of, and liked so much, was the full sound you were getting on the E9th neck. How has Austin got so great in such a short time? Heck--I was 19 years old before I could wave 'By By'.

What a Great Organization and nice bunch guys.
But the show !!! I believe it kind of raised the bar for me.
Jerry Roller's touch and tone, Mike Mcgee's unique twist skill, Austin Stewart, Holy Smoke!
Dino Skrunk Has to be one of the Best Guitar Players I have heard and Roger Springfield's America brought a tear to my glass eye. HA!
He's so good, looks like they named a town after him.
Thanks to Hank Ruff and I'll be back to the July show for sure to see my new friends.
Branson is really worth the trip.

Thank you everyone for your nice comments about Austin. He has a lot of fun being among his friends. The whole band was great, but Dino stood out to us as well. He was so awesome on that lead. Austin said the band made him wake up and play hard.

I always enjoy Dad and Austin, as I am partial to them, but another set stood out to me and that was Jerry Roller's set. It had been a long time since I had heard him play and I forgot how great he sounds. I really enjoyed his playing.

Thanks to Hank and crew for inviting us out. We had a wonderful time. Looking forward to July.

What great run show

Post by Gary Sill »

Great backup band for the show Saturday. Sunday's jam also had a great band. The place where they had the show on Saturday and the jam on Sunday is a great facility for having such events. Sound was great also.

Lots of food to eat.

The show featured many great players from all over.

The Sunday jam included a teaching/discussion portion that really was informative and quite interesting with most people giving their input. The way the jam was run was very professional and organized. Everyone had the opportunity to play and you felt a great helpful atmosphere where you could stretch yourself some and learn some new licks.

Thanks Hank for such a great show and jam. Will definitely come back sometime.

Well, sounds like I missed a good show, but I had a good time in Sherveport watching the Bass Master Classic. I heard about the lead player. I think Austin was impressed with him!!!!!!!! Hope to see a lot of you in Dallas.

It's time to thank all the players, band members, the food preparation crew, and most of all, the great supporters of OzSGA for a wonderful weekend. It takes a team, and I'm so proud of all our contributors. But the bottom line is, we've got to keep it FUN, and I think we did so this weekend.

You all have my heartfelt thanks. God's blessings to all of you.

Now, on to July!
