It's south of Fairview Heights, IL. Follow I-64 east to HWY 159 and then head south. Takes 15 minutes tops from the Mississippi River. I'll have John lead you from there. I'll post more about it when I get a little time.

So your not a computer illerate hillbilly 8) 8)

It's about a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive I would say, think about coming over, you can play bass or steel or both.

Maybe you and Bill could carpool :D :D

As John mentioned in the opening post, all singers and musicians are welcome. This is a little different than most jams in that the music is all live, as opposed to recorded tracks. No set list by anymeans. Whatever the singer wants to do or instrumentals too. We had a blast last year playing and visiting with other players. Nice little hall with plenty of room. Write it down on your calendar and try to make it if you can.

That's great! I sent Scotty's an email and offered to let them set up a promo table for the convention, hall of fame or whatever, but never got a response.Hope Don makes it. I also talked to Spider Webb and Bob Stoner yesterday and they both are hoping to make it.

Just wanted to add and to bump this up. We ask that you purchase all your drinks from the bar and not bring any in with you. The hall allows us the use of it for free. We have low friends in high places  . And that's not me by the way. They just want to make a little off of the drink sales which are very reasonable. We will cook up some hot dogs, bratwurst, have some chips and all of the fixings for free. See you there.

Might make it

Post by Larry Baker »

As it turned out, I didn't go to the Texas Steel show this year. Weather didn't look to good, so just decided to stay home. Therfore, I plan on coming to your jam on Sunday. Will be bringing a great gal singer with me. Great classic country singer. Just don't set me too close to Don E. Curtis. Ha Ha. Larry Baker Columbia, Mo.

Steel Jam

Post by Larry Baker »

Thanks to all who helped to put the Jam on in Swansea, Ill. John and Wally, thank you for making us feel at home, and for your support for a relatively new steel player, We had a great time, and hope to return. Thanks to the great sounds of all the pickers, Don E., Russ, and the rest to whom I don't remember the names. We just got home, and wanted to relay our feelings. Jean DeVore and Larry Baker.
