What is the oldest PEDAL steel you have ever owned? Lap?

I had a National Console for a long time. I believe it was made in the late thirties, 1939 or 1940, I am told.

I have a Fender D8 They say it was made by shobud. I am currently play a MSA I don't know the age of the Fender. It needs restoration work. I guess i have had it close to 30 years

I have a DOBRO solid cast alum.elec. 6 st. lap steel with a ser. # A11. All info I can get confirms it to be a 1934.

A '37 Dobro
A '38 Gibson lap steel
A "'66 bolton" Emmons which was mostly 70s parts with changers off a wood neck D-10 of unknown vintage and two homemade pickups...

pedal steel, 61 Bigsby T-8 with 10 pedals which I have owned for about 10 years I think and Lap late 30's 25" scale frypan which I bought about 28 years ago.

I have a round neck Dobro given to me by my father, who was born in '18.
He bought it in his early teens. He told me he paid about 25 dollars for it and bought it from a furniture store. He said it took him about a year to pay for it.
I showed it to George Chestnut, when he lived here in Fla. He examine it and said it was made in '29 or '30.
I also own a six string, blonde Fender lap steel, that I bought for 48 dollars from a pawn shop in Petersburg Va back in '65. I have no idea how old it is, but it appeared to have some years on it when I got it.

All I had was a Fender 400, 4 pedals, no knees, and it was the black,red, natural color. With a old tube Masco amp. Still have a 5-string made in 1880. And my LDG square front, that gets played every day.

I just (last week)bought a Fender 1000 from the original owner. It shows it's age, but plays & sounds excellent. Would be a good one to restore.

My first steel that I still got was a 1974 Emmons S-10 student model steel with three pedals and one knee. I played it from 1999 until 2004, when I bought "Redgold Beauty", my GFI Ultra D-10. I got that Emmons for Christmas in 1999 and it's still a great steel.

My oldest was a late 50"s- early 60's Fender Stringmaster Triple 8, blonde in a black one piece case. I sold it to George Gruhn around 1980 or so for about $600 and made a profit. I bought it for $175.00

I bought this one almost new in 1971,MSA D12,8+2,paid $350 for it,kept it for 30 years and sold it for $350. This is the model with the flat bar instead of cross shafts undercarrage.

Earliest electric lap steel was a 40's gray Rick 6 string my parents got me back then and my first pedal steel was a super pro 1.

The oldest pedal steel I currently own is a Fender 400 circa 1965.
The oldest pedal steel I ever owned was a four neck 8 pedal Wright Custom circa 1959.
