What kind of steel was Porter Wagoner's steel man playing, and who was he? Apprently he's standing up using two pedals. This pic was taken from the cover of 'The Porter Wagoner Show' album.

Whoops, Bobby, You said the magic word , ShoBud. I was quite certain that it was a Sho Bud, but couldn't make out the berand from the photo.. Bobby is a 100% accurate.. Sorry..Bernie

Thanks, everyone...the bass player is Curly Harris. He was the comedian of the band. He did some pretty funny stand-up comedy routines on that album.

Don Warden was also Dolly Parton's manager/bus driver too. He played steel with Dolly and Porter when they would sing duets on Porter's show.

That Sho-Bud was one of, if not the first Sho-Bud. It eventually ended up in the Roy Acuff museum.

Looks like Porter is playing an F chord, Norma is playing a D chord and the Bass player is going to play an E note... must be a song Roger Miller wrote?
