digital readout
I have a small Dayton Milling machine. Does anyone know where I could purchase a digital readout for it?
Thanks

Billy, what size mill do you have? What is the biggest end mill it will swing? There are two ways to go here. I have a small 3 axis DRO on this little Enco mill. Maybe you can see it on the upper left of the mill. For around $350.00 you can get into this with the three scales. I have a large Jet mill on the way but the DRO for that cost $1250.00. Martin.

Mine is a small Dayton Drill-Mill I bought from Grangers, they still sell the same machine, It is the smallest mill they sell if you want to look at it on their web site and I am sure the one on the mill in your picture would do fine. Where could I get one for about 350.00 and do them come for a particular brand of mill or do they fit any mill?
Thanks

Billy, I think your mill has ( X-18") (Y-8") (Z-6"). Best buy would be to go to WWW.SHARS.COM and look at the digital display (only) part # 303-9322 for $199.95. this display comes with the cables and transformer. Then look at the digital scales w/output. You can probably get by with a 18' "X" scale # 303-9309 for $89.00. And a 8" "Y" scale for $39.00, part # 303-9305. For the "Z" get the 6' part # 303-9303 scale for$32.00. All these scales can be cut to length if necessary. You can set your table stops for the "X" axis so as not to damage the 18 inch scale. The 20 inch scale is much more expensive. If you decide to go this route let me know and I will show you where and how to mount them. Martin.

Billy, sorry , I just looked up your mill and I think I may have gotten the table travels wrong, (should have done that first) anyway you can go by your machines actual travel and get the proper scales. Looks like you will come out for less money. Martin.
