Plus it's not a fingertip, but a permanent and not a -62, rather a -65. A- 62 guitar would have a Madison decal and different style endplates. Nice original permanent though, correctly priced someone would have a super cool Bud!

I'm pretty sure it was $1599/$1999 the first time I saw it and sure 'nuff, the prices have been changed since it was originally listed.

The Guy has no clue what he is talking about, then he said he played it for a couple of years... I can only guess when he does he would embarass the rest of the steel guitar world... If it is the first one, why does the sticker say Nashville and not Madison Tn. ??
No doubt a the guy is a dreamer! but then the general public will stereo type all players off of some goober like this.... Yee haw! just my 2 cents..

I received a reply from the seller...

No I researched and found out this particualr guitar came from Muscle Schoals studio, it was used on many famous recordings in the sixties (Rolling Stones, etc.) and is one of the first, if not the first fingertip models ever made. The price is correct.

Well, if you can tune the pedals by twisting those allen screws with your fingers, I guess you can call it a fingertip

C6 PU seems non original, tuning keys are not original either. Now that he posted pics of the underside, it's clear that it's a mid- to later part of the 60's guitar, not a -62.

interestingly enough, if you get the ebay mastercard...giving you 15% back..you'd save around $2700..enough to buy a real steel guitar, then you could sell this collector's item for what you paid for it...effectively getting yourself a steel for nothing. i'd think the buy and sell forum sales wizards would be jumping on this!
