I would like to thank all the club members and their guests for attending the 35th PSGA Show. With the economy going the way it is and uncertainty at everyone's door, you all deserve a huge applause for supporting "YOUR" club. And especially, I'd like to thank all the volunteers for their help. Without them things wouldn't go as smoothly. And , all the performers, who played so wonderfully. And, finally to Jeff De Maio and his family and friends for giving their undivided attention to every detail.
We all had a great time at a great show and we hope to see you all next year

Thank you PSGA for another great steel guitar show! And thank you for allowing me to be part of this 35th anniversary show. The PSGA is a great organization. I've been a member since the late 1970's (I joined when I was 4 years old!).

This year's show was well attended. It was a full house, and a very appreciative audience! I enjoyed hearing all of the excellent performances and seeing a LOT of old friends.

The back up band... Wow! They are the Best. Excellent players, all styles. Thanks again Bob, Jeff, John and Darlene, and everyone at the PSGA.

What a great show! And a great turnout! My thanks to the PSGA, it's officers and volunteers, the superb house band, and everyone involved in making this 35th Anniversary show a great event. Thanks too for inviting me to join the lineup this year; I really enjoyed it, as I always do. This year was extra special for me, as it also marked the 20th anniversary of the year (1988) that I played my very first PSGA show, in Armonk. I recall that Buddy Emmons and Jody Carver were both on the show that year. Other than that, though, my mind is a blur. Anyway, thanks again to all concerned, and I look forward to the 36th Anniversary show next year, when it will be back to its usual 2-day format.

I don't get on the forum as much as I would like but I thought this might be the best spot to thank everyone for attending the PSGA show this year.
Like our VP John DeMaille said, we were concerned that the economy and gas prices might really hurt the attendance of our concert, but we had a tremendous turn out.
I speak for all of the PSGA board members when I say it is so rewarding to put in so much time and effort into the show and to see a full house on show day.
Thank you to all the preformers on stage and the helping hands behind the scenes.

We will attempt to put on another class show once again in 2009.
With guys like Doug Jernigan, Bob Taillefer,Fooch Fichetti, Terry Sutton, and Lonnie Bennett already confirmed to appear in 2009 we are off to a good start.

I would like to thank the PSGA for allowing me to play at this 35th anniversary show. I had a stomach full of butterflies but the band was beyond excellent
and I can't say how much I appreciate their efforts and kindness. I would also like to thank my dear friend Les Severs for coming out of a long and well deserved retirement to sing with me on this show. Les still can "belt 'em out".
There were many people who came up to Les to let him know how much they enjoyed his singing. Les has asked me to express his appreciation to everyone at the show for making him feel so welcome. He also wanted to let the band know that he was extremely impressed by their musicianship and for making him feel so comfortable.
Les is one of the main people in the long and successful career of the great George Edwards.
Both Les and George are giants in my book.

Congrats Jim! I think '88 was the first year for me too, or maybe it was '87... I remember meeting you in Armonk back in those daze. You sounded great then, and even better now! After Armonk there were a few shows in Darien, and then the current location in Norwalk. Nearly every major steel guitarist of the past 35 years has been featured at these great shows. Keep up the good work PSGA!

Thanks to everyone who participated and attened our 35th Anniversary Celebration this past weekend. All the steel players and back up musicians provided the PSGA with a fine presentation of steel guitar playing and we appreciate the gift they bestowed upon us in a message of good faith for what we are committed to accomplish.

From the start we had a full house with Standing Room only. Folks we have not seen in years were among the attendees. There is a message here.

The Pedal Steel Guitar Association is dedicated, as a non-profit educational organization to educating the General Public as to the beautiful musical quality of the Steel Guitar and how it is played. We accomplish our goal each year with a demonstration of the the finest steel guitarists avaialable to us for our annual event.

BTW John and Darlene DeMaille nailed it down with their presentation this year, as did Joe Wright and his bride Connie. She is not Connie Smith but she sure sounds a lot like her!!

Thanks to everyone who support our efforts each year. We can't do it without your support.

It was 1987 not 1988 in Armonk, NY.
I have all of you on tape.
I remember Doug playing "Over the Rainbow" and Jim you played something by Theolonius Monk.
I don't know if the tapes are still good though.
Buddy gave his seminar in 1987 and I was there.
Paul Franklin was the headliner in 1988 and I took that seminar also.
Then Jeff gave several seminars for the next 7 years.
It's been over 20 years. It'tough to remember back that far unless you have records of it.

Great to hear of such a good turnout for the PSGA show.

Oops! I was off by a hundred years on Buddy's seminar.
It wasn't 1887, but 1987.

Thank you for that info, Don! Yes, 1987 sounds right. I have fond memories of those early shows, as a player and as a fan... hearing and meeting Lloyd Green, Buddy Emmons, Paul Franklin, Jimmy Day, and many other great players.

Those were the good old days when they all played the PSGA shows and I was still in Massachusetts.
Now with so many club shows around the USA it's hard for the artists to fill everyone's request.

I only go back as far as 1984.
That would be a very long list.

I think the last 20 yrs would be great.
It would be a long list but I think we should get a list like this started to make sure we have a record like this all in one place.
