The Motel for the MASGA Wilson jam is:
THE WILSON TRAVEL LODGE
2901 HWY 301 S.
WILSON, NC 27893
252-243-5165
Regular rates are $45-49
The manager is arranging group rates; please do not call until late Monday Afternoon; ask for Steel Guitar Convention special rates.

The motel is located at the corner of Hwy 301. S., and Forest Hills Road; the Forest Hills Clubhouse(jam location) is at 1001 Forest Hills road NW, about 8-10 minutes from the motel.

The motel is not fancy, but clean; close to a good breakfast rest. and also a good steakhouse next door.

Hope to see you in Wilson!!

OK Folks it's Wednesday morning and the time draws within just a couple of days for a really fantastic jam. I will have somelocal friends and family in tow there from around here and some friends and family coming down from Virginia as well. All steel guitar lovers. The line up has promised to be some great pickers and some novice rookies like myself. There will be some new faces there as well as the regulars. Just think....isn't it great to get together and see old friends and meet new ones knowing that we all have something in common??? And where else can one go and find so many steel guitars set up in the same spot??? And the different styles and techniques. Folks don't pass up on the fun. Be you a picker or listener...come out and join in the great time. I am happy to announce that Boo Miller will be setting in on my gig Friday night wilst I get out from behind my steel and sing some Haggard, Jones, Price, Owens, Watson and on and on. What an honor to have Boo do my steel work. Also at the gig will be my brother Charlie who does a much better Hag than me and a Twitty that John Hughey would be proud to play steel for. He is bringing his daughter Kim down as well. There can be no better female vocalist. The voice of an angel. And then there will be our own Kim from Wilmington. Can that girl get down and sing or what??? What great fun we have together...and if she would just sit down to that '66 Emmons she could show you some really nice stuff. She's got some licks. It will prove to be a tiring weekend for me there is no doubt but I can always rest up another time. So come out and join in the fun...you will not find friendlier folks anywhere else in the world.
I just looked at the forcast for the weekend... 60's.....WOW!!!!

See ya there.

Looks like a great crowd this weekend!! Larry Hyde is working on food for the event, and I am getting loads of calls from spectators; its going to be tight with the crowd, but then again there is nothing like togetherness. The band for late Sat is set, got some super singers. If you get lost or need info, called me on my cell 252-399-1533.
