Gary, order up some good weather , I am going to try to make it up on the Gold wing. The top kind of leaks when it rains. Also how is Bob doing, I haven't heard anything about him for awhile. I always enjoyed his quick wit and his playing. Sounds like a fun time is in store and looking forward to it.

Well back home this evening after a great day of steel guitar. Gary delivered the weather just like he promised so the bike trip was a real pleasure, not too hot and I like that 40MPG.
Gary and the gang once again did a fine job for another gathering of steel players. Where else can you get to see and afternoon of 13 steel players, doing all types of music, dine on some fine food, be up close and personal with the players all for the sum of $10. Its a nice facility, all ground level and paved and easy to find even if I did miss it while looking at the construction on the ramp I needed to take to get back home.
Quite a mixture of steels, Zum, Mullen, Emmons, Desert Rose, Star, and GFI. Gary was really giving that new Emmons a workout and also had his Sho-Bud LDG there. Leland Darst was there playing an Emmons but he also had Moons old Sho-Bud there for everyone to look at. It was given to Leland by Moon as verified by the writing on the bag for the pedal rods. Leland also covered Moons tuning, and gave some history on the guitar, no its not the one that got washed in the car wash . For those of you that have seen it , the moon was put in the front apron by Big Jim Webb, really looks neat and the guitar looks in great shape.
So that is about for a Saturday afternoon of steel guitar. Gary, I can post a picture of Moons Sho-bud if you like with Lelands permission or maybe he will post it. Now that is one guitar that we all wish could talk, what stories would it tell. People, you are missing a great time, come on out and support the next gathering they have.
Correction; it was Big Jim Webb not Jim Vest that put the moon and eye in the front of Moons guitar. I should have been taking notes, thanks to Leland for an email to correct this.

What a great time!
Just want to thank Gary and all the folks at the OSGA for making me feel at ease and right at home. It was a real treat to see all of those beautiful steels and hear some mighty fine Ohio pickin. I'm now proud to be a card holding, OSGA member. I'm terrible with names, but a special thanks to Tamara for a good laugh or two and the Pedalmaster owner who so gratiously let me hack away on his beautiful and superb steel. I found out to late that the string spacing was a little different then mine, as a good rendition of City Lights got under way. My mind was smoking as I hit all those clunkers, sorry. I had to cut out just before the jam was over to get to a family thing going on this evening, with the two hour drive back to Greenville. I'll do better next time on all counts, and bring my own steel. Again, thank you very much for a great time. DS
