Are you Emdaydextrous?
Emdaydextrous: The ability to play both Emmons or Day setup fairly comfortably.

Emdaydextrous
I can tell you that Billy Easton is definately Emdaydextrous. I've seen him play his Day Zumsteel and an Emmons set up Carter during the same gig. He never missed a lick. He's an amazing musician.

A little trick to get you thru if you are forced to play the Day set up and you are an Emmons set up player. Take your tuning wrench and back off the the 4th string E to F# on the first pedal and you will have the Emmons set up on the first two pedals. Same thing for Day players on an Emmons set up. Back off the E to F# 0n the 3rd pedal and you will have the Day set up on the 2nd and 3rd pedal. You will be limited to what you play, but it will get you thru. As for the knee levers, you are on your own. Jody.

new word for steelers
Colm, great new word. You must have been thinking about this post for quite a while. NO, I can't set down and play the Emmons set up. I started some 40 years ago on the Day set up and have not had the opportunity to set down to a steel with the Emmons set up very often.

James, yes a play on words with ambidextrous.
Alan, somehow I woke up yesterday morning and was thinking about this ability and the word popped in my head. Perhaps a revised addition of a capital "D" to read "EmDaydextrous" may be more appropriate and I see that Eugene Cole has added that enhauncement in a later post.
Isn't the English language wonderful. Unfortunately I am not as creative using musical language nor am I EmDaydextrous.

My Sierra has a Day setup and my MSA has a Emmons setup. I do not have any troube switching between the pedal configurations. However I lament the lack of low-tuned strings on the MSA.
