Mickey Adams, 500,000 Views on YouTube

Post by Mickey Adams »

I want to thank ALL of you that are tuning into my YouTube videos. Today is for me a new high in my musical "career", 500,000 views! Ive got more videos ready to upload this week, and I will be happy to respond to each and every email. I have a request list thats about 150 songs deep...And I must say, that I am learning more material than I have at any time in my 20+ years of playing...It is here that the give and ye shall recieve theory rings true..I have reaped the rewards of numerous new friends, and opened myself up to a wealth of input and insight...So when I say thank you..It just doesnt seem sufficient to relay my gratitude to all of you...Peace!...Mickey in Dallas!

Well, Mickey, you know my feelings on your teaching ability and playing. All I can say is You da man, man!
I like the list of requests, that way you won't run dry in the first round anyway!
Congrats on the half million. Although a very important milestone, it came as no surprise to me.

Carry on with your great work for the steel community!
regards

Mickey, your YouTube videos are truly a remarkable and greatly appreciated learning resource. I'm sure others have told you this, but what makes them so helpful is that they are just great teaching. There are plenty of people who are gifted in some area, but so few are able or willing to convey their expertise to others.

I'm a long-time guitar player who took up the steel a couple years ago when I bought a Sho-Bud Maverick. I poked around on it for a while. Learned a few chord changes and mostly noodled. (The Maverick is, ah, for sale over on the "For Sale" thread under "classic Sho-Bud." I bought a GFI student model that I'm liking a lot).

Your videos have really accelerated my learning. The exercises in particular. The length is perfect. The minor chord "Moondance" lesson, for example, was good for hours of exploration and new understanding.

It's largely because of these vids that I'm playing steel probably 1/3rd of the time in a garage country boogie band with some old friends. It's just so enjoyable and rewarding to be making all this new music. And it's a kick to be playing the steel out on some beer joint gigs. So, many, many thanks for the boost.

Glad to hear the good vibrations are making their way back to you as they should.

P.S. Can I throw tune number 151 on your list? This might be a good beginner/intermediate tune and it's just fun to listen to. Chuckanut Drive "Ain't Much Action."

I'll be getting back into the learning/playing mode in just a couple of weeks when my new Mullen arrives. I've already watched several of your videos, and they will certainly be a valuable resource for me as I get back into this after 18 years absence.

Thank you for all your efforts.

Hey Micky...I hope you can tolorate another "How Great Thou Art"...You really do deserve it :!: Since we don't have Jeff Newman to help us "newbees" or "wannabees" as well as the more experienced players, you fit the bill pretty well IMHO. Keep up the good work.

I REALLY DO NEED TO CALL YOU AND GET TOGETHER WITH YOU AND GET SOME HANDS ON TRAINING (I'm not yelling at you...just wanted to raise an eyebrow or two HA!). :D

Gregg

Mickey singlpilot Adams

I have to admit I was probably 250 of those watches.
I take lessons from Jody Cameron in Angleton, Texas.
Jody is a great player in his own right & had a few lessons from OUR Jeff Newman RIP. I enjoy your lessons, they are very informative. At sometime I would like to get with you for a few 1 on 1 lessons if you do that & have the time.

Not to beat a horse to death , but CONGRATULATIONS.
OUTSTANDING WORK! Anyone who gives of there time is an amazing person.

Thank You

You are the best Micky, an old friend, just wish I could see you a lot more. But then I have you tube!
I'm glad to see that you have the following your efforts deserve. You are doing a great great service to the steel comunity that we both love.

There are givers and there are takers in this world, you are a great "giver" and are greatly appreciated by all, I recommend your clips to everyone.

Well said Bobbe!

Just think, if each of those views paid just 1 penny, Mickey'd have an extra $5,000 for a spare G2.

"Ahhh" Hey Mickey!....I bet you never heard that one... Or what about this one???
M,I,C..."See you real soon"...K,E,Y... "Why? Because we like you" (Can you tell I have some friends named Mickey?)

But this old Mouse song is really the truth. We do like you. You do a very nice thing for anybody learning pedal steel guitar. And I bet you now get recognized everywhere you go by steel pickers. Thank You for taking your time to help others for free. It's not often seen these days.

PS. Nobody's ever called me "Master"

Micky,
Thanks for the latest additions to Youtube.
I especially enjoyed the "Teach Your Children" intro from CSNY. Awesome explanation of the postions, strings etc. I'ev only had my Ritt for 6 weeks, but I'm making that video one I'm going to visit often.
