Bob, I'm not exactly sure how it works, but it sounds like the file is "rebuffering". The file is large and 56K modems will not download fast enough to play an entire song without stopping and starting again. My computer does the same thing (56K). Cable users should be able to play the entire song without any "breaks".
I believe that once the entire file is downloaded it should play without rebuffering. It might vary depending upon the kind of mp3 player in your computer. Does anyone else know more about this?

Doug, some players try to stream MP3 files. On a slow connection that won't work.
Try rightclicking on the filename, then pick 'save target as'.
It will then save it to your hard drive without trying to play it as it downloads.
