Its not familiar, but it is distinctive. I would remember a guitar like that if I had seen it before. Someone will recognize it I bet.

Hi Joe, The stallion on the front is Mother of Pearl and is not a sticker. The pedal board across the entire front is the same.. Unique for certain. Don

I noticed that guitar on ebay and it appears that the bridge pillows along with all the underdcarriage are not Sho-Bud: maybe Marrs? There isn't a lot of Sho-Bud left in the guitar. Probably still a really good steel though.

Bruce, I noticed the fretboards aren't Sho_Bud either. But the under carriage, sure is set up nice. And the pickups look to be Bill L's. I count at least 8 knees, although it's said to be only 5? There are 5 up to the seventh pedal, and there are 3 more after the 8th pedal. Don

Don, I would check with Jeff Suratt at Marrs guitars and if this is in fact a Marrs rebuild he could probably give you a lot more background history on it. I know the undercarriage is a huge improvement over the original.

I'm no ShoBud expert, but I think those fretboards MAY be original. From what I understand, ShoBud made some fretboards that didn't have the playing card theme for people that didn't want it. I think the non-gambling themed fretboards had diamond shapes on them. It's tough to see the fretboards in the pictures on ebay.

Well Craig, everything has a history on it in one way or another.. So I guess anything is possible. Who knows, you may be right?:D:D But then too, it could just as well be Aubry's.

Serial number is #13126 And it belongs/belonged to Aubry Rice.

I did a search on the forum archives just to see if anyone had ever mentioned Aubry Rice, and it turns out that forum member Kenny Forbess mentioned him once, saying he was a friend of his.

Maybe he'll chime in.

It has the "Sho-Bud Texas star" fretboards. Prefered by gospel players. I think I may still have some in stock. Shot Jackson invented these himself.

Naturally he had a "0" by his name. It was the first time ever of even being on Ebay, much less in selling anything. He had to call ebay and get them to explain to him how to get the pictures on there. So No! the buyer doesn't have a thing to worry about from him at all.

"Oh! BTW: I'm not the new owner of it as some feel I might just be." Sorry, but I missed that Bud too.

However, after many talks back and forth on it. The man who owned it simply can't play any longer. And that's the only reason it was being sold.

Just couldn't sit back and let a good man get run down from having a "0" rating on Ebay.

No offense meant, but wanted to settle that at the start.

John, I didn't know exactly what it was worth, but I knew it had to be well up there, and there was some nice looking work on the underside as well. Definitely a great job was done by someone. I think maybe I'm too honest for my own good at times.

I contacted the seller and asked him if he was aware there were 8 knees, as opposed to the 5 he had listed it as having.

I was thinking real strong of going well over the price it brought. But then I told myself, I really didn't need it now, since not doing gigs any longer. I think that's the only Bud that ever really caught my eye. Yet I knew when I posed the pictures of it, that I probably wasn't interested, or else I'd probably not have given it anymore advertising than what it had on Ebay..

On the other hand, I didn't want to see it sold dirt cheap either.

Oh well, I now regret not getting it to some extent, but I've not figured out exactly why that is right yet?

I think it was probably due to the entire package deal, and knowing you could sell off what you didn't want and come out smelling like roses anyway.. Oh well, I'll just chalk that one up.. Don
