Hey Erv, The pictures of your guitars look like a work of art. You should take them to one of those high priced auction places in New York..who knows someone with money may appreciate them as much as I do.

Jani, When I spoke to Bill on the phone he said he was busy and told me the waiting time but because of the day to day changes in any business, I did not feel it was right for me to repeat that conversation on the SGF. It is much better for people interested in the Williams Steel to phone Bill and get the information from him.

Hey guys, I just wanted to report that I now have my Williams for 5 months now and have not broken a one string string in that lenght of time. I never liked using my C pedal on my other steels for fear of breaking the E string when it was pulled to F# but on this Williams 600 Series I use it without fear but it did take me a few months to get over my fear. Why, Why, Why did Bill not make this Steel 20 years ago?...Every kid in the world should get one for Christmas and the worlds problems would be solved.

Seems like I'm always tagging along after Brad to throw this in, but the Williams 400 Series, while different in several respects, has the changer design in common with the 600, as far as the reduced bend in the string at the changer and resultant lack of string breakage is concerned. Just so anyone interested in, and/or having the chance to acquire a Williams knows not to pass one up because it's not a 600 Series. 400 Series is good too!

See all the pretty Willys, Bill has got to be one of the best at putting out a good looking lacquer guitar.
I had one the same as Brads, same color everything except I had the 400 changer, and mine was a full double body.
But same exact color.
He's really a super guy, wish I could afford to have a 600.
Good Job Bill, you deserve a lot of credit in the Steel World.

OK Jani, ya talked me into posting my "400". I'm one of the lucky guys that live close enough to Bill to visit with him and hopefully I don't drool on the beautiful steels he's building for you folks that have them on order. He gives a whole new meaning to the term "craftsman".

Del, I've given it a lot of thought. This is a great guitar and I don't know if I want to sell it and then wait for a cross over. There isn't anything wrong with what I have. I'd love to have a C/O, but then I'd have to go through the agony of deciding what color

. Everytime I go to Bill's shop I want one of everything.

If I ever get a solid offer that is acceptable for this one, then I probably would go with a C/O.

Bob,
I am a big fan of Jerry's longhorn fretboards. I like the simplicity of them and also I prefer the narrow fretlines that Jerry uses.
I will have some pictures today of my new Zum and I also put the longhorn fretboards on this guitar also.

The Steel Guitar Forum
