New Jagwire Strings

Post by Franklin »

I want to personally thank Danny for his patience, and my father for leading me into this direction.

It's been over a year since my father asked Danny for a sampling of the types of strings Jagwire manufactures. Dad decided to phase out his string company and suggested I try the Jagwire strings. I was pretty much heading towards another brand until I discovered the Jagwire string.

After some lengthy experimentation with nearly every brand out there, I have chosen the Jagwire String. I believe it is the best of the best. The string guages I now use on the E9th are a little different. I found that these guages deliver a more warm and balanced tone quality to my copedant than the lighter guages used for the E and G# strings.

Happy New Year to All!

Paul Franklin Joins Jagwire Strings Family

Post by Danny Hullihen »

Please join me in welcoming Paul Franklin to the family of Jagwire Strings Endorsers. We are indeed very proud and honored to have Paul with us.

Paul uses a unique set of gauges on both, the E9th tuning and the C-6th. They are as follows.

E9th.
.013 .015 .012 .015 .018 .020 .026 .030 .034 .038

C6th.
.018 .014 .018 .020 .024 .030 .036 .042 .054 .070

Paul's string sets will be available soon both here from Bobby Lee, and from Jagwire Strings Co. directly. http://www.jagwirestrings.biz/catalog/i200.html

Hey Danny, I think Paul is welcome everywhere! :) But Welcome Paul!

I have been thinking of switching back to Jags since last month but b0b has been out of the Tommy White E9 sets for a while. Any news on when they will be restocked? I have found that TW's E9 gauges work the best on my Rains.

Never tried them. Are they stainless (not my preference), or closer to the GHS Boomers I'm using now?

Jagwire

Post by Danny Hullihen »

Sorry Michael, I wish he did, but Bobby has his own line of fine strings, "Cobra Coil" and perhaps he might feel it's a bit of a conflict of interest? However, should he ever decide to become one of our authorized Jagwire dealers, we'll be sure to announce it.

You can also buy Jagwire strings directly from Bobby Lee here on the Forum, and he offers free shipping. Paul Franklin's set are not available here yet, but they probably will be in the near future.

My shipment of Jagwires will arrive today or Monday. It will not, however, contain these new Paul Franklin sets. I'll be carrying the PF sets, but first I have to restock and get all of these backorders out.

Welcome to the Jagwire fambly, Paul! :D

Jack. The .020 is a plain, none of our sets have a .020 wound but we do offer a .022 wound string in both nickel and stainless.

I'm just a small-fry player in ya'lls big, big pond, but I'm crazy happy with my Jagwire Ricky Davis series strings. I really like the nickel strings. The Jags, and lay my BJS 15/16" John Hughey bar on them, and the ole shobud SINGS!!

Michael, Try these Jags, they will take your Pro I a notch higher yet, If that's possible!! 8)

Paul Welcome to the Jagwire family!! What's cooler than that!!

Not knowing that the Tommy White sets would be in so soon, I went with the Ricky Davis set and am very pleased with those as well.

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage all forum members to buy strings from b0b when they can. I don't go through them quick enough to be a substantial financial source for him.
