That Marlen is super stylish!!!

It's a shame that nobody makes new steels that are that slick looking.

If you could make a vintage looking steel like that, with modern mechanics & changer, you'd be in business. I love the keyhead, endplates & the plate around the changer...SLICK!!!

Of course, the wood & the inlay looks good too!!! They really knew how to buil a flashy looking guitar back then.

Hey thats a nice looking Marlen that Howard has! Not sure what year mine is but its set up for C6th and is missing the 1st and 10th string. Fun guitar to play and the pickup has real sweet tone. The only complaint I have about this guitar is the string height, which is lower than modern guitars. Here is mine:

Since I can't play music, I watch people play. There is a woman on RFDTV who is playing what looks like a triple neck and I think (know) she is standing up. Please comment if you have seen her. Being un educated in the ways of music, Is a multi-neck played both horizontal and verticall in the same song. Could she play the I cord on the firts neck III chord on the second and the IV on the third. Just curious and yes I have a strange way of looking at things

b0b, The first PSG I ever had was an Emmons 8 string (Little Buddy I think(?)) that I found at a pawn shop and it looked just like the one you have. Did I sell that guitar to you? I don't remember what I did with it.
Matthew, is that a left handed steel? Its beautiful. Don

That's not mine, Don. Wish it was.

Nice Harlens. There is something liberating about playing the 6 and 8 string steels. It's probably because there is less to think about, and it's quicker and easier to get to places that you're able to go. My 6 string Multi-Kord is a lot of fun.

Not Vintage really, but maybe a "throwback" to "back in the day.
There is a new S-10 on the way too!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe Emmons had anything to do with the Lil Buddy Guitars. I tried to set up two different ones and they are not a high quality piece at all.I believe they were built by someone in Michigan or up there some where.

What would the common pulls be for a 4 pedal no knee lever guitar? 8 string tuning.

I'd use the standard C6th pedals 5 thru 8.

Al Perkins used to (and hopefully still does) play an 8 string E7th tuning:

Lowest to highest:
EBDEG#BEG#

With E to F#, G# to A and B to C# changes.

It's a lot of fun and hugely strummable.
