Thank you so much for your support. Have,nt seen a dime, I just can't help but think Alex is in finacial difficulty . Without causing a rift between buds, I am a part of a forum as well the "drum forum" and understand the dynamics. I just find his silence a bit odd and would have expected a shipping cost refund at the least. Thank you all. I am not strapped for cash just befuddled? ( is that a word , spell?? check seems to think so ). All the best and Happy Holidays, Adrian in San Francisco, PS Thanks James

Yes it is (the principal of it).... and I am especially shocked that you received no email.... not even to acknowledge that the steel had arrived.

Well it may just be that Alex is havin a bit of financial difficulty, especially during the holiday season and anyone would understand, but a simple email would have averted any misunderstanding. Not keepin your part of the bargain is one thing, but not even sendin a thank you email reveals more about a persons charactor to me. Alex needs to address this issue and finalize this transaction.

Has anyone tried to contact Alex by email? He recently had his Carter for sale in the want ads here. This is bizarre. I thought Alex was a stand-up guy here on the forum. His ignorance of this thread cannot be an oversight on his behalf at this point. He cannot possibly be willing to forsake his good name in the steel community over this issue. I've seen forgiveness granted here long after it was deserved, but this is heading in a different direction fast.
After all the support you received about this issue, Alex, I think it's time this was addressed - for the sake of Adrian and all of us here who are trying to still consider you a good guy. You must have a position on this. Please advise out of courtesy if nothing else.

I cant belive that this post has been going on for so long without me knowing about it. I found it from a personal e-mail that was sent to me from a fellow member. none of these post have been redirected to my e-mail. No, I havnt reimbursed Adrian yet. Yes, I have every intention of doing so!! However, my number one priority is getting out of debt. My steel was not the only thing stolen. Six strings, pedals, ECT... everything I own as a musician. In order to keep gigging I went out and got a credit card and bought all new gear. Plus sending of the sho-bud to be fixed by marrs. It wasnt all in one piece. That wasnt cheap either. My plan is to fix the sho-bud (pedals, rods, case) so i could sell the new carter to help pay of a third of the debt thats getting like 27% juice. Adrian did the right thing by sending the sho-bud back. He didnt ask to be reimbursed, I offered to reimburse him when I had the money. He seemed to be cool with that. And thats very cool of him. I havnt recieved any other e-mails from him.Im a young working musician. So, i dont have a lot of money. In order to have the freedom to play gigs, tour and pursue music I have a small one man painting business. The holiday season is the slowest time for me. Im scrounging for jobs right now. Im not asking for anyone to feel sorry for me. Thats just how it is. The carter did not sell on the forum or on ebay. Ive sold it to a fellow musician in arkansas who is paying me when he gets the money. I have to be honest and say that reimbursing Adrian has not been my top priority. Im sorry, but my main goal is to get out of the red, and to pay bills. By no means have I been avoiding this post!! I wouldnt have posted my carter for sale or a simple question about tuning if I had known this post was lingering. I dont spend a lot of time on this website or the internet. Im either working, playing gigs, in the studio, or practicing. Im sure a lot of you know how hard it is financially when music is your main gig. I didnt ask for this situation that happened in San-fran. I geuss when you play long enough eventually something bad is going to happen. Im just trying to bounce back. And its taking a long time. I love the forum. Its been really helpfull for me. Im sorry if ive offended anybody by not paying adrian back ASAP. Im sorry, but Ive got to take care of other things first right now. If that makes me a bad guy on this forum than i dont know what to do. Hes going to get his money.

There you have it folks...Alex has just been busy. It's nice to have both sides of the story.
It's nice that Adrian was such a nice guy & it's nice that Alex is sticking to his word.
It's a shame to see someone have to go into debt due to someone being an a$$ & stealing their belongings.

Hey Alex, Glad you have caught up with this thread. Speaking for myself, I have confidence in you, but you would do well to communicate with Adrian, and Adrian with you. Communication greases the wheels of progress of good relationships. Please don't take offence that I (we) were wondering. After awhile of nothing and no communication, Adrian was getting a bad feeling, like he had been taken. Believe me, and I believe I can speak for most here, we want to give the benefit of the doubt to two fine forum members.
By the way, I am seasonal too, with my tree service. It can get a little difficult during off season. So I see where you be coming from.
I want to add I really could care less what you and Adrian have worked out or will worked out, as long as you both follow through, and are happy. I really wish this stuff would stay in private email instead of public forums, IMO. But once the can of "worms" gets opened, well there ya go.

I just sent adrian $100 through paypal from my credit card. Thats all I can do now. All it took was an e-mail from casey that linked me to this post. Im glad I got it otherwise people would have kept bashing me without me knowing it. This post was not being redirected to me and i didnt even know adrian was a member of this forum. To be honest, i kind of forgot about it. I dont know why it seems so far fetched that I would overlook a post. I love this website, but im not on it all the time. Not every member obssesses over this site and searches it constantly.I hope some of you that had bad things to say would belive that I wouldnt post a silly question about tuning while this stuff is going on somewhere else on the forum. Im glad you guys are on top of things. It helped me get my guitar back. But some of you need to lighten up a bit. Ive had the opportunity to tour around the country and in europe. Ive been able to share the stage with some amazing musicians. About 90% of the time I mention the forum to the steelers I meet out there they shrug a bit. Im friends with a guy thats about as seasoned as they come. Hes been on grammy winning records, tons of movie soundtracks, and tours with major recording artists. He wont come here because people posted two pages ripping him for not using finger picks. This is obviously not the same situation, but its related.
As far as principle goes lets think about it. I like Adrian. He did the right thing, and i commend him on that. Hell, id jiggle the mans balls for reuniting me with the sho-bud. But principle, C'mon dude. buying a sho-bud from a flea market for 50 bucks and selling it on ebay. I know hes not a steel player and probably doesnt know the value of it. im not a drummer like him. But, If i found a 1968 slingerland kit at a flea market in a big city for 100 dollars I think id have a hunch. But, Id probably do the exact same thing he did.
Dont get me wrong. I owe it to The forum for all of the help. I owe it to Adrian for being a stand up guy. just communicate before yall start doggin me.
