Warning about intrusions on OTB Site...

I talked to Frank Estes this weekend, and he mentioned that you can link to the OTB from Bob's main page.

I went over there -- haven't been to the OTB in months -- and a wierd, aggravating and extremely intrusive thing happened. Something imbedded at that site kept launching a new window advertising a "secret camera." I kept removing it, but it kept reappearing and actually took over my computer for a bit, much like a virus.

I think that is way over the top, even for a free site like the OTB...

Ain't going there no more...

I'm sure it's harmless advertising, but the pop-ups have sure ruined the site for me. If someone wants to sponsor Off Topic to get rid of the ads, the cost is $30 for 6 months. You'd be a hero to all of us.

What is the OTB site? I tried searching the forum with no success and searches on the internet yielded Off Track Betting sites.

The Off Topic Board is a message board where steel guitar players talk about things that are not appropriate here (politics, religion, sex, gardening, etc.). There is a link to it on the www.steelguitarforum.com welcome page.
