GROSS errors.

Post by C Dixon »

On January 29, 2003, I posted an article in the "No peddlers" section.

http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopi ... w=previous

In that post, I made a terrible error. Today, I learned that what I said about Letritia Kandle (Steel Guitar virtuoso and musician extradonairre) was NOT completely correct.

I said that she was a "Julliard" graduate. This is NOT so. Even though I had believed that (for reasons I do NOT know), she indeed WAS a graduate of that prestigious musical college.

Today, because of the graciousness kindness of SGF member Paul Warnik, (who obtained permission for me to call her), I discovered that what I had believed for 60+ yrs was indeed incorrect. The facts are: she graduated from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago.

I also misspelled her last name in my posts, and yet I ought to have KNOWN better, since it was clearly spelled out when she signed an autographed picture, that I have held dear since she gave it to me over 60 yrs ago! It is NOT Kandel. Rather it is Kandle.

I am eternally sorry for these errors. I apologized to her on the phone, and I am now apologizing to this forum for such a lack of true facts on my part.

May she, you and Jesus, forgive me for this.

And may Jesus bless you all always,

carl

Carl, Gross Errors, not hardly? Not even close. We've all made mistakes similiar to that I'm certain. Thanks for the clarity effort, but more importantly it's good to see you still active and I, along with a multitude of players, wish you would come back more often and share your immense knowledge of the instrument. We all could sure use some of your expertise, and please don't let the few who don't understand EVERYTHING affect your outlook on the forum in general. They can't possibly paint with such a large enough brush to represent the majority of the forumites. Good to hear from you pal, and GOD BLESS YOUR EFFORTS.

Hi Carl,
Welcome back. You have been missed by many.

I agree with what Phred said. :)

You have a lot of valuable knowledge to share and I for one always looked forward to reading your posts. :D

Carl, welcome back, and PLEASE don't leave us again.

I know that some people here were appallingly rude to you in the past and that you were hurt by their remarks, and I hope that doesn't happen again. You are such a welcome presence here to most of us. As far as I'm concerned, anybody who abuses you the way you were abused before deserves to be kicked off the forum.

Please stay.

Carl,
Good to see you post again. I'm sure that Miss Kandle was not upset by the mistake.
It is wonderful that you could make contact after so many years.
I, too, hope you will again participate in this forum.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a post from Carl when I logged on a few minutes ago.

You and I have never spoken but FWIW, one of the reasons I joined this Forum was because of your extremely informative posts.

Welcome back Carl,you were missed.

Carl thank you for favoring us with your post. You have been greatly missed on the forum and I hope you will be kind enough to continue posting even if just occasionally. Your incite and knowledge are only exceeded by your upstanding character and dignity.
In the future, when I visit my children in Atlanta, I would be honored if Sandy and I could take you and your bride to dinner.

Carl, great to see you post again. Your faith should be just the thing that keeps you on the forum. I thank you for your knowledge, sincerity, integrity and love for the Lord. You were such a bright light to so many, I hate that a few ran you off. I know you had a major, positive influence on this forum. Far out numbering the dismal knuckleheads that ridiculed you. You stay right here with the majority my friend. I know your teacher would agree.

Welcome back Carl. I only met you briefly, one time at Scotty's convention some years ago. Sorry to say I missed your Steel Guitar Extravaganzas in the Atlanta area. It was my loss for sure.

let me too add my welcome back to the Forum. This is my first entry since becoming a member some weeks ago, although I've been lurking for years. We have had correspondence off the Forum and I'm grateful for your wisdom.
