I know it's kinda short notice . . . but . . .
Anyone who loves classic rock -- even the kind with a little pedal steel in it -- who is around Orlando, Florida with nothing to do on New Years Eve -- is invited to the Hard Rock Live (Universal River Walk Complex).

I'll be joining the guys from Classic Albums Live to recreate the classic 70's Rolling Stones album 'Some Girls'. Tunes like 'The Girl with Faraway Eyes', 'Beast of Burden', 'When the Whip Comes Down'. Our encore set will include some great Stones hits from other albums such as 'Wild Horses' (my favorite Stones tune of all time), 'Satisfaction', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'Let It Bleed', and many others.

Warmup (9PM) will be a CAL recreation of the Guns 'n' Roses album 'Appetite for Destruction'.

We will play 'Some Girls' -- top to bottom -- at 10:30 and then an encore set at 12:30.

These guys are top notch pros. I've done one other show with them and they are first class musicians.

It's certainly not Ray Price music, but there's more than one side to the steel guitar. I'll be showing the backside.

Sounds like a great gig, Larry. My New Years will be split between Country/Americana/Rockers "soputh 70" and Rockin' Michelle Malone. I love the genre-busting stuff. Break a... string...

Checked out those guys, an amazing concept and a hel* of a good time. An Album Cover Band, I'm going to introduce the concept to my guys, but to tell ya the truth it's hard to find a broad audiance that would appreciate the cover of a complete Country Album.(IMHO)

I'm so sorry that I was unable to make it up to Venice to see your 'Patsy'. Susie and I were all set, then I had a sudden, and welcome, influx of work!

The NYE gig sounds like it was great - I trust it was better than mine!!!! I had to grind out about an hour-and-a-half of songs with a drummer who kept time like an indoor sun-dial. Seem as though you're never to old to have a new experience...

A very Happy New Year to you and Brenda, and I trust we can get together soon.

Yeah, Bill, Craig Martin had a great idea. He's been doing it for five years and has built a great organization. Most of his musicians are in and around Toronto -- some REALLY GOOD ROCKERS -- and they rehearse the album until they have it pretty much note for note and then take it on the road. For specialty instruments -- like horns or steel guitar or strings -- they sometimes hire local musicians. They (CAL -- Classic Albums Live) do casinos and medium sized venues like the Hard Rock Live in Orlando -- capacity was a couple thousand. It wasn't quite sold out for our show but they made money.

I doubt the country album thing would fly in Florida, but where you're at in Texas, you might just be able to make it happen. You have to treat it like a business. Craig is a great business manager first and foremost.
