If you're wanting to see the fretboard, MSA makes an add-on lighted fretboard
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

Chris, admitted there is not much comparison there. Sorta like whether you want to arrive in a Cadillac or a VW. Both of em git you there.

Why must they always turn out all the lights? Atmosphere, they say! OK for a club, for the dancers, maybe? I LOVE stage shows, either in daylight, or under stage lights at night! When I'm in the audience, I WANT to see the band! The guy I'm working for, now, always turns out the lights, usually before I'm done tuning! For a while I was using one of those night lights, with an electric eye, that makes it come on, when it gets dark. Why do folks even want a live band if they(the band) have to play in almost total darkness? They could set up clothing store mannequins, and play CDs, and who would know the difference! (sorry about the rant, but turning out the lights, is one my pet peeves)! :aside: -Jake-

I guess it depends on what you really need.

The lighted MSA fretboard is awesome.
Have a look at Jim Palenscar's new S12 8x7 MSA Legend. Everything about it is Mercedes Benz S-Class nice.

The Live-Edge lighted fretboard is really cool, and easy to install on the Cadillac you already have. I was very impressed when Gary showed me how it works. Big help PLAYING in the dark.

Need to see which nut you're putting your tuning wench on? For that I'll be in line with Chris at the Dollar Store.

According to his website, shipping to the U.S. is not offered.

Alan, he did ship it to me in the states. I had no problem at all. He was great to do business with and went out of his way to please me. Maybe something has changed.
