I'm gonna try and make this work. I'll be at The Landmark May 2nd, but it'll be at he end of a 1 1/2 week road trip.
I'll have to see if the gang can hang until the end of the jam or maybe I can catch a ride back to Seattle with one of our steel pickers.
Hope I can.

Just a simple question.............

Post by Ray Montee (RIP) »

I've had two former 'jam' participants call me this past couple of weeks and inquired about a comment purportedly made by you or othewise attributed to you.....Larry.

The story goes, that there will not be any "Lap steel and/or Hawaiian non-pedal steel playing in this up-coming jam."

True or false?

A question that could be best answered by you. I'm confident your answer will be gratefully appreciated
by more than just these one or two players.

Ray any and all are welcome to come and play, the song list is posted above with keys and example videos.

Thanks for providing an opportunity to set the record straight, those comments never came from me nor will they ever come from me.

I set the format, select the songs, everyone gets to participate who cares to.

We always have a lap player or two and a dobro player every now and then. Must be the spring time pollen.

Happy to view your prompt response to my inquiry.
I'm sure others will appreciate your words as much as I.

I couldn't imagine you being someone that would make that kind of remark.

Best wishes for another of your successful events.

A friend of mine has a small airplane, and weather permitting, we are going to fly down for this event. I won't be there to play or sell, just to visit. If the weather doesn't permit flying, we will drive. I just have be back that evening. I look forward to seeing so many friends and customers and hearing some great music.

Hey Larry and guys, this is great. Had to miss last years but I will be there this time, and bringing several guys from Spokane too.
I've been to all the jams, conventions, even the one in Spokane, but this Portland steel jam is the best-its fun, laid back, and everyone has a good time, not only picking, but visiting. Looking forward to it.
Plan to arrive Saturday night. As soon as you Portland pickers know your playing schedule, post if your out picking that Saturday night, we'll bar hop around to listen.

Doesn't look like I'm gonna make this one; too bad. These get-together jams are tons of fun.

Best regards to all who attend and continued Kudos to Larry and all the PDX and regional gang who make these memorable for all.

Though I'll be playing a push pull the night before at Dante's, I'll be bringing the old brown Pro 2 to the jam.
