Well if anyone can, you'd be it Redd! Some of the chords and notes you get DO NOT exist on my guitar. I am always amazed at what you can do with the same 6 strings I have.

Mike gave me a copy of the book and the cd didn't play so he gave me a replacement. It didn't play also but somebody somewhere can fix it. I need to break it back out again.

Hey Redd - when Leo invented the Telecaster that steel guitar sound was exactly what he had in mind. But heck, the whole world is trying to sound like you.

Wiz, that link takes me to a page that says system requirements to download Quicktime 7 are Windows XP, Vista, or 7. I have Windows 8. When I click on "Download now", nothing happens except a check appears in the checkbox for "Keep me up to date on..."

Is it that I have to give them my e-mail address? I don't need any more spam e-mail!

Just download the installer and see if it works anyway. They may have forgotten to update the system requirements at (anti-Microsoft) Apple.

Don't bother giving them your email address unless you want all kinds of promotions and new release or security bulletin notices.

If/when you do install Quicktime and allow it to run in Windows 8, be sure you enable the option to check for updates automatically. You can select to be notified, or have it downloaded but not installed, or the full Monty, or nothing. Auto-updating covers you from zero day exploits that are reported responsibly. It eliminates the need for email notices from Apple.

Apple software is now merged into one master updater interface. It installs optional items if you want, then checks for updates for all at the same time. We're talking iTunes, iCloud, iSee, iDon'tSee and iDon't Care. ;-)

Yes, the "pockets". Emmons is the king of the pockets. He and other guys who started out non-pedal on a 6th tuning know those pockets inside and out.
Anyone know how recent this is?

It's from Mike Ihde's 333 Licks, Guitar Book, Mel Bay. Published in 2008. I have the book and CD here somewhere. Buddy also discusses that Pat Martino counterpoint lick he plays sometimes. The CD also has video discussions with Doug Jernigan, Bobbie Seymour, Billy Robinson, Mike Auldridge, and several guitar players.

andy..i'm not sure that's what leo was thinking. i think he was aiming more towards a versatile guitar sound. he already had steels that sounded like steels.
