Wine

Post by Jerry Knapper »

Has anyone tabbed out the intro and break that Lloyd Green did on Eric Brace & Peter Coopers song "Wine" that they could share with me?

Here's my take on the intro.

As far as I know, Lloyd definately doesn't lower his fourth string, and I don't know if he lowers his eighth or not, so I've tabbed it accordingly.

The 'D' lever lowers the second string a full tone.

I'll say right away that this is my take on how I play it, and might be miles away from how LG plays it, I really don't want a repeat of the pedantic crap that was posted when I tabbed a Curly Chalker solo

After listening to this intro again, I've slightly amended the bar slant at the start from this:

Lloyd does lower his 8th string E a half tone.
This is his copdedent he still uses today as he has since late 60's.

Using his copedent I believe this is how it's done:

A, B and C pedals
L= lower
LL= dbl lower
R=raise
P is where you pick

one of the most pretty intro's i've ever heard..

That's how I have it figured too, Rob.

Very ingenious, the use of the 4-2 and 6-4-2 grips.

I think so too Brint. Also, first I was surprised by the somewhat unconventional placement of the 2nd string lower, but i guess the inward movement gives far better control.
