And at the end of the day, the steel guitar is all about beauty. Hot licks are great, but the reason that you're reading this now is because sometime in the past you fell in love with the sound of this instrument.

Guitar Spectacular is my favorite steel guitar record ever. The compositions for the most part are masterpieces. I love Slow and Easy and it really shows what a great composer and player Speedy was in the context of the music.
I did a non-pedal version of Afternoon of a Swan, which I think might be my favorite tune of all. If anyone is interested in hearing it, here's a link:
I love Herbie, too, and I'm looking forward to seeing him in a few weeks in Dallas. His Steel Guitar Holiday is way up on my list of great steel records, too.

Steelin' Moonlight was another great Speedy West Tune. Speedy West wrote so many great Steel Tunes and brought a lot of excitement to the Steel guitar.
