I'm not too sure about doing it on a PC. On my Mac I use something called Audio Hijack...it allows you to take audio from any application that is running on your computer. I just did a search, found an Application called sound recorder for PC, looks like it does the same thing...it's free http://www.applian.com/sound-recorder/
there are a few other ways to do it if that doesn't work
good luck

Bo, like Drew said you can look for software to record what is playing on your sound card, then play the DVD.
There is also a lot of software out there that is designed to digitally take the audio track from the DVD. I have seen a couple of people recommend this one:
http://www.castudio.org/dvdaudioextractor/
It has a 30 day trial and it is fully functional during the trial period.
Here's some others:
http://www.imtoo.com/dvd-audio-ripper.html
http://www.cucusoft.com/DVD-Audio-Ripper.asp
http://www.xilisoft.com/dvd-audio-ripper.html
Good luck!
