Does anyone have the COMPLETE TAB for Lloyd's solo version of Farewell Party? Not Ricky's intro's, ect. I have them. Not Jeff Newman's version, I have it. In fact I have them all except Lloyd's. Help! Email me for privacy if you want. Fred

Fred you're not a pain.
Here's the problem.
It is so hard to Tab Lloyd Green and a whole instrumental version of a song he cuts. Lloyd has a copedent that lends him to playing in places folks just can't hear how he does it exactly. They(including me)can tab the right notes; but where he plays and the bar slants he uses to get those combination of notes is just unlike anything us normal steel players are used to.
I can tab many many things are pretty dang accurate....but I just FAIL miserably trying to tab Lloyd accurately.
You can request it as much as you like here....but that will be the wall all of us that tab; run up against, in trying to tab the Master of E9.

Even if you could not nail it note for note the way that Lloyd does it, I would be delighted to try to learn that tune in the "spirit of Lloyd" even if the notes are not played the way he did it. Any combination would work for me!!!
If you can hear the notes and the moves he does and they are not spot on, it still would be a great help to a lot of guys who dig Lloyd's playing.
Not trying to put you on the spot; just a suggestion.
I was looking for something to do this winter. And I love a challenge. Could even be turned into a contest of sorts, forum members judging the outcome. Of course someone else would have to play it and all tabbers would have to work from the same cut of the song. Maybe set a time limit. What think ye?

Hey Dick; what a cool idea.
Mark I would if I could....my time these days; just doesn't allow tabbing. I'm swamped with Guitar work; gigs; sessions; and 4 kids.> Otherwise I would give it my best whirl.
There are two guys I know that could tab it almost perfectly; if you can talk them into it....Jeff Lampert and Jan Jonsson.

Here's my take on the first verse from Lloyd Green's Youtube version
It's quite an eye-opener when Lloyd Green's playing is looked at in depth, I've never concentrated on writing tab as closely as this before (and even then, I'm probably way off )
The first 43 seconds has taken me what seems like a lifetime , and my head has started to hurt, so maybe someone else could take up the baton, and do the chorus ?

As far as I know, (and if I'm wrong Ricky please delete the following comments) on one of his early steels, the fourth wouldn't return true (after it had been lowered), so Lloyd dispensed with this lower, and found different ways to get the same note.
examples around not using E lower, strings 5&6 both pedals down at the 5th fret D is the same as 3rd fret 4th&5 with 4th lowered, 8th fret strings 5&6 open is the same as 4&5 at the third fret with a pedal, again strings 4&5 at the 10th fret is the same as 5th fret string 4&5 with a pedal. this is the beginning of the break for the song not using the 4th lower at all. the part where it goes from the D position at the 5th fret up to the 7th fret back to the 5th is the same as 10th fret strings 5&6 pressing a pedal then release slow

I'm quite sure that I could play the same notes that I've tabbed in different places on the neck, it's just that the way I've tabbed it is the natural (DAY)way that I play, I can 'flow' better when I am not struggling with a (to me) seldom used string grip.
Everybody's different, other players might find my tab impossible, and seek the notes elsewhere.
