I posed this question on this thread http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=117807 but didn't get a response. Maybe someone here knows the answer.
Mr. Brooks came to the Alpena County Fair in Michigan before anyone could spell "Garth" and Steve and I had a long conversation at that time. I believe he played steel for Garth most or all of his road career but I could be wrong.
He gave me a phone number and address but that has since been lost.
The question is, whatever happened to Steve McClure??

I met him a few monts ago in Wichita, KS. He's from the area & still lives nearby.
I've heard that he's played steel for a few folks around here lately.
I'm pretty sure that he had some "issues" or something...I don't know all the facts & the stuff that I do know I wouldn't print here on a public forum.
He's still playing.
