Hi BAZ...First time I have ever seen you in action....very impressive. These ancient ears tell me your intonation is right on, so no apologies required. I was especially impressed with WITCHCRAFT .... you did a great job on that tune. I was unaware of your ability to vocalize....not bad at all ! As they probably say in England, "carry on old chap!" but over here, "Hey man, cool stuff!"

Oh, I might mention here, the song is titled "MY TANI" (no 'h'). Tahitian: 'My Man'. HO'OPI'I is quite easy to pronounce...try this: "HO - O - PEE - EE"...see? now, wasn't that easy ? His name has always been pronounced that way. It was mainlanders who, years ago, threw in the 'hula HOOp' ha!

Thanks Keoki, but the pedal on my 3rd string was slow returning and slightly put me off, but No excuses, I SHOULD have sorted it before playing. just too busy with other things like intravenous coffee etc..
(Well the amount consumed might as well have been administered that way)

As for the Singing? Pat isn't one of my fans ! I only do it when requested, and I'm only requested when someone in the gathering wants to tape the words of an unknown (To Them) song.

I know there's chat and wrong notes, bad tuning and the likes, BUT, warts and all, that's us !!
Having said that, you really SHOULD hear us when we are taking it seriously.

I PROMISE to post some of the more serious playing by us as soon as Pat and Mike can stop laughing !!

There IS A Spanish Guitar one by us to come on YouTube later today.

Speaking of "requests", I often receive requests when I perform, but I stay anyway ! :D

Some of the requests we get are physically impossible with a twin neck Fender 1000 !
Some more added to the TOP post

Great playing as usual, Basil. A shame the camera only got your hands in the shot.

What amplifier were you using ?

Baz,
I always enjoy your playing. Such a delight, nice tone & nice tunes.

I'm curious, what tuning are you using on your Fender?

Looks like all the tunes were played on the neck closest to you.

Thanks again, Bill

HI BAZ,

I enjoyed listening to your tunes, played on your Fender 1000 psg. "Midnight In Amarillo" has always been one of my favorites.
Please refresh our memory on the tunings you have on the upper & lower necks of your guitar.

Lee, thanks, Pat's guitar is a Hofner Jazzica Custom, one of two that she has, I bought her the second one for a Christmas present as she didn't like flying with her "Best One"
BTW Just in case somebody asks, her amp is an AER Compact 60 Mk II and mine is a Peavey Nashville 112 and Foxed up Profex.

It WAS shot in the 16:9 widescreen mode but knowing my girth, that's obviously not wide enough

You're always one of my very favorites, Bas, and that Fender sounds wonderful. And Pat's playing is right on. I really couldn't hear Mike very well, but if he had messed up I probably would have so he must have done well.

Well there is a second camera angle of all of the show but the sound wasn't as good and me being so rotund doesn't help the illusion.

Kuuipo angle 2

I was so impressed by the sound that I've ordered a Peavey Nashville 112. When it arrives next week I'll see if it enables me to play like you. ;-)

(of course, it could also be something to do with the 50 years experience ....

....naw, it's got to be the amplifier. 8) )

It shouldn't be too difficult to take the video from one camera and the sound from the other. They do it all the time in the movie studios. Lip-sync isn't the problem it used to be during the old 16mm days.

I hear what your saying Alan, but I thought I'd leave any videos I posted "Untouched and Virgin"
There has been a proliference lately of "Tarted up" ones and I wanted to absent myself from that school !!

With all of the tuning discrepancies and the "off the cuff" banter, Methinks It's more personal !

Well my Peavey Nashville 112 arrived a few days ago. After due consideration I've concluded that it must be something other than the amplifier which makes you sound so well.

Basil,

Your playing is so "hot" that you have your backup fanning themselves. ;-)

Jolly Good Show!!! 8)

We would be very happy to see you there. :)
I understand that your wife, Pat, came to Winchester one year.

 Why don't you bring both Pat's - your wife and the Pat Smith from Brecon Beacon.

Aloha, :)

Don
Do you mean Pat Jones or did Pat Jones marry a Smith recently? I don't recall hearing of any marriage.
They still have time to make it to the HSGA Joliet Convention.
