Got a very old, seemingly home built pedal steel in the mail yesterday.
I had assumed the changer was similar to the early Harlin Bros or Gibson pedal steels.
It seems to be something else though.
Anybody here ever seen a changer like this?

The Harlin changer had a split (two-piece) finger that allowed both raising and lowering of the same string, similar to modern all-pull steels. The changer in the guitar you received has a horizontal one-piece finger, similar to the older pull/release design, and I believe the early Magnatone pedal steel had a similar changer. It's a very rudimentary design, and leaves a lot to be desired. But, it will still function if you keep the copedent very simple.

Donny, I was unaware Magnatone ever made pedal steels. Do you know if they had a model name, or if there are any photos of one? I couldn't find anything online.
