In about a week or 10 days I'm going to have an Emmons PP student model guitar, wood grain mica, with 3 floor pedals.
I plan to add 3, 4 or 5 knee levers (or whatever the buyer wants, within reason) and put it up for sale. Probably in the $1000 to $1500 range.

I'll see what I can do with pictures when I get the guitar. I've already seen pictures of it and it's a pretty neat little guitar.

The guitar came in today (Thursday),,,it's gonna' make a realyy fine guitar for someone. It's got a sound and sustain that is unbelievable.

Gang,
I appreciate all of the trade offers (4), but as of now, I'm not in a position to accept trades. It needs to be a straight up "cash" deal.
If you're wanting that fabulous "Emmons sound", this baby has it as good or better than than anything
I've had come through the shop in a long, long time.

A few clarifications, please?
- Have the volume and tone controls been relocated from the top of the guitar to the side?
- What is it that's installed next to the volume and tone controls?
- Is the pickup-surround plate non-original?
- Is that dirt, damage or filled holes between the fretboard and the plastic plate?
- What kind of George L pickup is it that's on the guitar now?
- Are the rear legs adjustable?

I think they were instaled on the side.
Probably a jack for a tuner.
My guess is that it is not original, but it is a very neat instalation.
Appears to be cigarrete burns.

| For those who don't know, Bobby is a stand up individual and an amazing steel guitar mechanic. I am proud to consider him a friend and feel very fortunate to have access to his skill and expertise. If bobby says this emmons is a good un you can bet it is. |

Here's the deal gang,
Base price of the guitar, "as is",, with 3 (ABC) pedals and with no knee levers is $795.
For each knee lever you want up to 5 levers,,add $100.
Example: with 5 levers the price would be $1295.
Everything will be tweeked to be as good as possible on the guitar as far as the action and playability goes.
This is NOT a refurbish job. To refurbish it would be rediculously expensive. The cosmetics are what you see in the pictures. This is a '66 or '67 model guitar and most of you know what that era of Emmons guitars stands for.
Even though it was/is classified as a "student guitar",
when I get through with it, it will compete and stand up to any, and I mean "ANY", so called "pro" guitar.
A deal like this just doesn't come around every day.

Bobby set up my U-12 PP and I can not say enough about BBs skills with PSG.
It was a challenge to say the least.

I have done a fair amount of research on "student model" pedal steel guitars. There is ONE that stands out head and shoulders above the rest (that;s why I have one): EMMONS GS-10. These are some of the comments from posters here on the Forum that I gathered:
What is it that gives the Student Emmons GS10 the unique Emmons sound it has? Have other PSG companies tried to copy it to get that distinct sound? Or, have they elected not to in order to have their own "distinct" sound, or, possibly to avoid infringement on pattern rights?
The changer mechanism. One part of the changer finger (the lowering segment) is held tight against the body of the instrument by a strong spring, and has a metal bolt screwed through it, on which the raise finger rests.
The raise finger is also insulated slightly from the raise rods by means of a thin wire hook, which minimises loss of vibration.
• There are some who believe the student model actually has better tone than any of the pro models. And I think you can add more knees to 'em.
• That tone on the GS-10 student model is from the "BOLT ON" changer. PERIOD.
• I get a GS-10 thru here for servicing every now and then. I'm always amazed at how good they sound.
• I have a lot of push-pulls. A lot. So, Naturally I compare them to each other. The best sounding push-pull I have is a '66 bolt-on D10. If I didn't need a D10 for gigs then I'd probably take a GS-10 student model. I say that owning three S10 p/p's, too. Either of the two student models i own have got the tone big time. Big time.
• I also prefer my Emmons student model to my Pro Emmons S-10...both guitars sound great, but the little one just has something extra...plus, it's easier to lug around.
• The Emmons GS-10 is a great guitar. Some pro's have used them, they sound great and great and are very stable.
• Emmons student guitars sound awesome and, like any other Emmons that is properly adjusted, will play in tune and stay in tune. A Genuine Emmons Push-Pull Pedal Steel Guitar is awesome because you can feel it throughout your whole body when you play it. Even with the amp off! I say that knowing first-hand what that really means. My MSA didn't do that. My Sho-Bud didn't do that.
• If I had never, ever played an Emmons, I may have other ideas. But I know what they sound like, because I know who played them on certain old records. I heard what they sounded like, both live on stage, and close up and personal, with guys playing them, like Russ Pahl (Elton John’s band) and Mike Cass (Ray Price’s Cherokee Cowboys) and Hal Rugg and Buddy Emmons and Jeff Newman. Not to say Lloyd Green does not sound great on his Sho-Bud, or that Tom Brumley did not sound great on his ZB, or whatever. But you know what? Charlton, Emmons, Jernigan, Hughey, Rugg, Weldon, Herby Wallace, Jay Dee Maness, Buddy Cage, and on and on and on... There was one common denominator. Listen to Mike Johnson's stuff on that Derby Red---- Push-Pulls. That ain't no Sho-Bud, Bud! |

Man, you nailed it with that post. 
With my illness, I'm probably not gonna' get to play as much as I'd like to anymore. For that reason I'm gonna' let the guitat go to someone who will play it. It deserves at least that much. Otherwise, I would never consider selling it.
There's just something about those little "student models" that most of the other models just don't quiet have. Close,,,but not quiet.

Man, I would love to have this guitar, but I don't have the funds yet. Hopefully I can sell one of my strats and my amp before someone else snatches this thing up.
