Thanks to Rick, Don, Jay and the others for getting this out to people. I bought a copy of BIAB and recently and put a basic track together to see how it works, but pretty much shelved it for later effort while I did drills on my guitar to get ready. I am close to wanting to tackle my own versions of some songs, so the timing is perfect. I downloaded it tonight without a hitch (orbit or other free download program significantly increases the speed).

Again, Thanks! If and when I get tracks together, I will add them to the communal library.

Hi Douglas.

Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear it came along at just the right time for you.

After you go over it a time or two, how about making a post,(here) of how you found it to be.

Thanks

For those needing to know how to download Rick's Files

Post by Don Brown, Sr. »

Steps to Download Rick Campbell's "Band In The Box Made Easy" Files:

Beginning Step:

RIGHT Click Anywhere on a blank portion of your Desktop. Then move your mouse cursor down to NEW, and Select FOLDER. That will place a new folder on your desktop. Name it anything you'd like such as: "Rick's BIAB Made Easy"

Next

Come on the Steel Forum and click this link and then scroll down to the last page. You'll see the list of files you'll need.

Click Here to Download Rick Campbell's,"Band In The Box Made Easy" Files

Download Steps to follow:

#1. Move your mouse over the First File on the list, and it will change color.

#2. Right Click and select "Save Target As"

#3. Select the New Desktop Folder you made.

#4. Click on OK, and that first file will be downloaded into the folder you made.

Repeat Steps #1 thru #4 for each of the remaining (9) files. It will install them, into the same folder.

That's it. Open VLC Media Player, (or) Real Player, and you're in business.

I've been told, if you have "Real Player" installed, it will play them. The files are AVI format. Windows Media Player, will only play the Audio portion, it doesn't play the Video.

The VLC Media Player, plays them with very good resolution, as does Real Player.

Please, (as Rick has asked) do a post back here to let Rick know how you found his Teaching Instructions to be.

Now, have fun with it.

Thanks Rick, for making it all possible. Your Generousity is Overwhelming, and for having an Excellent Instruction Video, explained (and shown) so well. "An Excellent Video"

And, Thanks Jay, for carrying it out even farther, by providing, (out of your generousity)the download site, and for all the work you put into making that possible for everyone to get their free copy. Outstanding!

It was also my sincere pleasure in sending out (free of any charges) the DVD copies I made for the one's who needed them.

Thanks to Mike Perlowin and Larry Baker for offering their help, even though it didn't work out. The offer to help, was still, indeed appreciated.

Regards,
Don

Don, Rick & Jay, ET AL:

Thank you all so much for your consideration of others here on the Forum!!

I finally downloaded the files Jay kindly provided to a DVD.

Did a quick review of excerpts of Rick's work. All I can say is WOW!!

These instructions are a tremendous aid learning to work around and within the BIAB program.

BIAB will be a lot more fun & easier for me now. Especially because you folks showed an abundance mentality helping others here out!!

I will try later on to "stitch" the files together as you suggested.

Thank you all again...... :D TX

Hi Ron,

Thanks for doing a post to say how you found it to be. Rick does a Great Job, explaining each step of the way.

Anybody who wants it, it's free to download, for as long as Jay decides to keep it on his site for downloading. Better hurry and not let this one get past you, while you still can.

Is there anyone who would have liked a free copy of Rick's DVD, but didn't want to download the files?

Hey Don and all members of the Forum,
I plan on keeping the files there until it starts costing me money- it's all about the bandwidth....so if you do want the videos-by all means get them....
I am not sure of when the host company will want $$$ from me-but I do plan on removing the files just before than happens.
So bottom line- if you think you will ever want them- grab them, they may go away at a moments notice.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

For anyone who downloaded Rick Campbell's "Band In The Box Made Easy" files on Jay's Site.

Remember this: Since they are each Individual Files, when you play them, be sure your Media Player ISN'T SET to play "AT RANDOM"

When it makes the play list, be sure the play list is in the EXACT ORDER the files were in when Downloaded.

Example: First file, doesn't have a number at the end. The next one has a 1, then 2 thru 9 for a total of 10 files.

They need to be played in that exact order, to really cover everything Rick Teaches, (and covers) in a Step by Step, Orderly Fashion.

To play them at random, would NOT be the way to learn what Rick is Teaching, and Showing. Since he starts, and continues explaining things, as he goes more and more into it, it's VERY IMPORTANT to be sure they are viewed in that exact order.

Therefore, if you check your playlist, and find any of them out of order, make corrections to those play list files, or that's how they would be played back. (out of order) Which isn't the way they should be viewed.

Hope that might have helped, should anyone have experienced them playing out of order, although they had been downloaded in the exact order they belong in.

REMEMBER! "TURN OFF RANDOM PLAY" BEFORE WATCHING THE VIDEO"

And No, I wasn't screaming in the above, just driving the point home..... ;-) :D

Hi Joe,

I'm sorry to say, it's not Don's.. That Credit goes to "Mr. Rick Campbell"

Rick is the one who made it, and he's also the one who now, made it possible for everyone to get a copy of it, free of charge. It use to be for sale only.

So please give all the thanks and credit, to Rick.

If you go back to page number 2, (on this thread) and then scroll down to the bottom, you should see the files are all still available from Jay's site.

Simply start downloading each of them as individual files, and you'll have the entire program.

Then, any help you might need, has probably already been written out on these pages.

If the downloads are unavailable, let me know and I'll see what I can do to get a copy to you.
