Who makes Big Fix? Is it a commercial product, something that came with your computer, a program that you downloaded, or a program that appeared on it's own? |

Wiz,
It came in the emachine. I think it is an
independent co. that is supposed to repair
and provide security.
I am loaded with other securities from
microsoft. |

If Big Fix is an accessory program try to disable it from running when Windows starts up. If it cannot be disabled in a configuration setting you may be able to disable it via Msconfig. If that is not do-able try to uninstall it via control panel. If that is not available try to locate the actual files it uses and delete or rename them. You should have a program group or individual icon in your Start Menu > (All) Programs list for Big Fix. Find the icon to Big Fix, right-click on it, select Properties, then click on Find Target from the General Properties tab. This will be a file inside a folder. If you go up one level, or if you are displaying the path in an addressbar, you will see the name of the folder which contains the Big Fix file(s). If you rename the Big Fix executable it cannot load at startup.
After disabling, or renaming, or uninstalling Big Fix, reboot the computer. See how things go when you re-enter Windows and let me know if there is an improvement.
