This video on MTV in the early eighties was the first steel I had ever seen. I remember thinkin at the time it was a really cool sound and a hot solo. Solo comes in around the 2 minute mark. Does the bar look strange like its got a grit to it? or is that a trick of the light? For distorted rock solos like this one, I dont hear alot of pedal sounds...am i right? If so , why not do it on a lap steel?

Steel player is Ken Greer, who now plays with the Road Hammers.

Saw him once about 12 years ago with Fergus Marsh on Chapman Stick, in band called Big Faith - as I recall a very cool show.
