Thanks to all who have stopped by the site!

Jimmie, I sure thank you for the visit. Thanks too for the mention of my book. I appreciate that.

Roy, it's a wave file and you'll need windows media player to hear them. Glad you've enjoyed it so far and I hope you can get to hear the music.

Rick
P.S. I highly recomend "Charmaign".

Despite obstacles my dad's bio is on the way as well as many more great pictures. Within the next few days there will be some really cool stuff on the web page. I've got a great recording of the Steel Guitar Rag done with Jim Reeves band at the Elko Nevada show that will knock your socks off. Played on the Fender Stringmaster. Thanks to each and everyone who has visited and helped me honor my dad. God bless each one of you.

Hey Rick,
Great site, thanks for putting it up.Back in the mid 60s Ralph Emmary used RCC as the themesong, I used to listen to it on the way to work at 11:AM. It tore me up then, still does now.The clip you posted sounds like it was recorded recently.(fidelity, tone, etc)course Bobby always had "tone".

Hey W.J., I own the Fender Stringmaster with his name on it. I bought it from the Jim Reeves estate after they closed down the JR Museum in Nashville. The Shobud I'm not sure about. Tommy Morrell said that he owned it at one time and he thinks it burned up in a house fire. On the other hand another well known picker told me it's in South Texas. And on yet ANOTHER hand, a lady I met had a brother who was a steeler. That guy passed away and left her all of his instruments. She said she has what she thinks is that very first D-10 Shobud in storage and is going to call me as soon as she finds it. So it's either toast or still around somewhere. Man if you listen to some of the stuff he did on that guitar it was just incredible stuff. NO KNEE LEVERS and I believe only 6 pedals! I'm in hopes this lady knows what she's talking about. I would consider it a find of a lifetime to be able to see that guitar alive and well somewhere.

Rick
P.S. The lady who thinks she has it definately has a Shobud she's sure of that and my dad gave the guitar to her brother. She also said that it was so wore out that you wouldn't believe it and her brother sent it to Shot Jackson for a complete over haul before he passed on. That will be a great guitar I bet and I hope its THE one.

Rick, What a great site. I worked with your dad many times. He was a class act on stage and off . I can't tell you how much fun it was to pick with "THE BOBBY GARRETT". He could get it on on stage at a show. He and I had a great love for Merle Travis and we loved to pick those thumb style tunes together. I will miss him forever and think of him often. Thanks for keeping the torch alive. Bobby

Great job on the site Rick. I always loved your dad's playing and I still try to play some of his licks. His playing strictly had a diffrent personality to it all his own,and it was great.
