I think it goes:

"grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,

Courage to change the
things I can,

and a great big bag of money!"

I first heard this at an MA meeting- Musicians Anonymous; it's a 12 half-step program.

I wrote and copyrited "The Steel Guitarist Prayer" Years ago.It went - Lord I pray that I may never-Forget to use the Right knee lever-And while I am pressing pedal "B"- Guide my foot past A and C-Help me remember whatever the key-Is it pedal up ,or down, or with a knee-Give me strength no matter how far- To carry my Steel back to the car- And Lord I ask as my final plea-That I DON'T BREAK STRING STRING #3. Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works. Make a donation to the Animal fund and I will send a copy.

Hey Ed, I still have the original cloth printing of the prayer that you sold at the convention years ago. It's tacked up on the wall of my music room.

My "Steeler's Prayer"

Dear Lord,

As I travel about with picks and slide-

Lord help me to play and my mistakes to hide-

As the strings of life stretch and break-

Help me to make music like you would make-

As I argue with my amp and try to tune-

Lord help me make sure I'm in tune with you-

Someday in Heaven, When a harp I receive-

Just give me one with pedals-
Right next to Big E's.

Dave.
Is there perhaps a 12 half-stop program available?
