Any Steel players playing Dobro with Bluegrass pickers, & after about 1/2 hour your tired of Bluegrass?? I love Dobro but
I can only take so much of Banjo & Mandolin.
Rythum Guitar, Bass & Dobro & Fiddle is a different story. Usually I try to find a section on the square where they are playing
old country & I'm usually content. Thanks for your comments

Autry,
I can agree with you on that as well to a point. Most of the old mountain music, however, was played on the fiddle and banjo and they were usually hand made.
But, like you, I find the jangle of the mandolin and banjo can grate after a while. I must be getting old.

What was interesting is that the Carter Family, which probably did more to popularize mountain music than anybody, didn't play banjo or mandolin to my knowledge so a lot of people have come to think of that as the true mountain music sound.

I've noticed that some groups can play banjo and mandolin and it's not as intense. I think of Blue Highway, which tends to emphasize a smoother bluegrass sound.

I`m a country music lover. Blue grass is OK . I am pretty tolerant of the banjo or mandolins. R. L.
