I'm thinking about planning a trip out east to visit Memphis and Nashville. I'm thinking about taking a week off of work (leaving Dallas Friday night, and returning the following Saturday or Sunday). There are some things I want to see in Memphis. (Graceland, Sun Studios, the old location of Stax/Volt studio, and go to a service at Rev. Al Green's church) But, I'm at a loss as to what my priority should be in Nashville. What should be on my list of places to visit. And, most importantly who do I need to see play at night. WARNING TO ALL NASHVILLE PLAYERS WHO ANSWER THIS MESSAGE: If I come see you play there is a greater than 0 chance that I will ask a lot of questions. But I will try to keep them semi-intelligent sounding.

Thanks for your help and ideas,

Todd

Todd;

while there is no doubt that the music is most important, a guy's still gotta eat once in a while and with that in mind, while in Nashville, I recommend:

1)Loveless Cafe
2)Bobbe's Dairy Dip

mmm mmm good!

Check out The Station Inn, see if J.Cox is playing. (Best hamburgers: go to 'Roberts', Charlotte Av./ 53rd.)

Todd, you MUST have Smiley Roberts give you the 7 cent tour of Nashville. He is Nashville's greatest Ambassador since country music has become hard to find. Mike Sweeney plays every night at the Nashville Palace, the Time Jumpers on Monday night at Station Inn, John Hughey at Legends on Wednesdays from 10 PM to 2 AM and Saturdays from 6 to 10 PM, Bucky Reid plays at the Dugout on weekends and Bobbe Sizemour at Steel Guitar Nashville from 10:30 AM to 5 PM Monday thru Thursday and 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM Fridays and Saturdays and Vanessa's somewhere on Trinity Lane usually after the sun goes down .

Hi Todd. I went to Nashville a year ago, and had the best time in my steel-life. Read about it on my homepage, and maby you'll get some tips on things to do there. http://hjem.sol.no/shobud
