An interesting tidbit:

Spock's "hand thing" is a Judaic symbol; I'm not sure of the meaning, but I remember seeing it above the ark of the Torah in a synagogue I visited as a child. I also seem to remember an interview with Leonard Nimoy where he mentions this as the inspiration for it (both he & Shatner are Jewish).

On a Jewish 60's side note, the original Mr. Phelps from Mission Impossible (before Peter Graves; can't recall the actor's name) was an Orthodox Jew; he had to leave the show because he couldn't work on Saturdays!

The role of Daniel Briggs was played by Steven Hill, who has gone on to great success as District Attorney Adam Schiff in "Law and Order." He was also in a spy movie I recall very little of, other than the fact that he was in it.
