Hi there Buddy,
A couple of questions:-
I`ll be in Victoria this coming Sunday to see you along with my best half and a few of my friends.

1. Where will you be situated on stage looking from the audience, which side?

2. Is it true that Albert Lee will be on this show with you and the Everlys?

3. How do you do it - keep in touch with all the guys here with your kind of busy schedule, do you have a laptop?

4. Where could we meet so some of the magic could rub off on me? ha. ha.

If Albert Lee is there, that group will really cook. I saw that lineup a couple years back, and they were amazing. You live in a beautiful place...Vancouver Island. Spent some time in the Comox and Courtenay areas a few years back. Loved it, and miss it.

Bob:
In Toronto, Buddy set up on the right of the stage, as you were facing it.

Sure you will enjoy the show, I certainly did. Think there were a couple guys up singing a few times but the fella on the "cheese slicer" had all my attention!!

Seriously, they put on quite a show and the music is great!

Hey Geoff,
Glad you were a part of this beautiful place.
We have a new road up the Island now which this coming September should reach Campbell River.
You must have come across Gord Kruger from Comox?? we twang together most weekends
Are you one of those rare beasts - a true Islander ??

Thanks Graham for the info - I`m like you - I`m only interested in the "Knitting Machine"
but Albert might sway me a little....only because he`s $$$t hot..........

Bob;
Facing the stage, Buddy is on the right.

If Albert doesn't have prior commitments in Englad, he will be there.

Buddy does have a laptop, but sometimes chooses to take his practice steel with him instead.

Sadly, the magic doesn't rub off, (DRAT!)

Ernie

Bob, I'm not a true "Islander" by any means. But I'd certainly be proud to say so if such was the case. I was in BC vacationing for a month. Hung out in Vancouver, and the sunshine Coast, and put my van on a ferry that took me to Nanaimo. I met my cousin from San Francisco and we went backpacking for a week or so. Climbed Mt.Albert Edward, and had a great time in a beautiful place. Didn't run across your friend, or hear any music as I recall. I camped one night on Denman Island, which is a pretty small little island as I'm sure you know. When I finally returned to New York City where I was living at the time, about a week went by. I was at a store in Manhattan, and met a gal...a complete stranger. I mentioned my trip, and she told me her parents lived on Denman Island. Damned small world sometimes.
I returned to BC the following year..to Prince George this time, on my way to Petersburg, Alaska where I worked as a commercial fisherman. My skipper had purchased his boat in Nanaimo, and loved Vancouver Is. as well. So we hit it off right away.
I saw the Everly's at the Ryman a couple years back, with Buddy and Albert. Great show. They did a couple of nice instrumentals as I recall. Buddy was setup to the audience's right side of the stage.

Bob

I saw Albert Lee last Monday in Buxton, UK. He is in the Bill Wyman Rhythm Kings band (ex Rolling Stones). As far as I can recall, the tour finishes about the 21st July at the Cambridge folk festival, so I cant see him being with you this week - but I maybe wrong.

Hmmmm. I STILL Haven't seen Buddy with the Everlys, much to my dismay. On the other hand, growing up, I DID spend all my summers on Gabriola Island where my folks have a cabin. Does that make me a legit contributor to this thread?

Chris - the answer is yes!!
At least you`ve probably seen what some parts of Heaven must look like.
In my 9 years of living here, I`ve only been to the mainland 3 times and that was because of business, I`ve never been to Vancouver!!!

There`s quite a lot of pickers and grinners for the amount of folk living here - I guess this is real "Hillbilly Heaven"
