Can somebody walk me thru opening up older email in Outlook

I have saved :

1) INDEX document, 39k Outlook Express Document

2) MAIL document, 137k Outlook Express Document

Dragging, clicking does nothing, it just sits there.

Suggestions, PLEASE !
