Things are running okay, tonight

Post by erik »

I did a simple FORMAT and install. Got rid of that nasty Netscape 6.1(although i like it's features), and i've been on for a few hours with no freeze-ups. Still had a error on install, but at least things are back to what i've come to accept as normal. Maybe i need a more powerful computer to run that new Netscape. I downloaded WinAmp. I'll download WinZip and Shockwave and that's it.

Thanks Ernie... i've managed to restrain myself from hitting, it's just been frustrating mentally. A few months ago i read an article at MSNBC about computer users in England who hit their computer. I never could understand the point of the survey. But, i see why someone took the time to make that animated .gif. Image

I had long been a fan of Netscape, but since they were purchased by the AOL evil empire, I have switched to Internet Exploder as my primary browser. I still run Netscape 4.76 on my system, but it will disappear when I upgrade to Windows 2K or XP in the next week or so. There is simply no way I was going to run Netscape 6.x after I saw it previewed at a software show.

Good luck,

jdg

I like the new Netscape browser. I especially like the cookie manager. Also, i have a friend who wants me to get instant messenger. The one from Netscape works accross the AOL, Compuserve platforms... because it is AOL, of course. I even have my screen name. What's weird is it won't recognize me when i try to use net-mail. Guess you have to be using the browser to get in. I'm curious to know why it won't work in my computer.
