About a year ago, someone posted the site for a completely FREE recording prog.

If anyone remembers the prog./site, please repost it.

You may be referring to Recordlab's Internet Tapedeck. Although the site was back up for a while, it has disappeared again. The site Cairo Zoots listed below has some stuff. http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/ I think Quartz Studio can be found there, and it is a free 4-track recorder (a teaser for their 8 track one)
