This is from a Macintosh perspective:

If the downloaded file is compressed, you will have to un-compress it first. Some files are self expanding; they will either automatically un-compress when downloaded, or you just double click on them to expand. If that doesn't work you need a utility like Stuffit Expander to un-compress the file. Store the expanded application in whatever folder you store your applications in.

When I double click a PDF document (the files that Acrobat Reader reads) the Acrobat Reader automatically launches and opens the document.

If you have Adobe Acrobat reader installed it will automatically start if you access an Acrobat (.PDF) file to display it, with Internet Explorer (and probably do the same thing with Netscape).

Al -

.wav files (sound) are not .pdf files, unless you have some sound editing program that uses .pdf for a file extension (can't see why they would do that as .pdf is almost universaly used for Adobe Acrobat files).

One way to find "lost" files is to use the Find|Files from the start button. If you want wave files, look for *.wav.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the help, guys. I'll give it a try. When I use Adobe Acrobat, it can't find some PDF files, maybe they are not all available? Lots of times My netzip Wizard can't find a file and I don't know where it is either, or what the name is....al
