A friend of mine gave me a Supro lap steel that he says he started playing in the early 60's. It is a 6 string, wood body, light yellow with black fretboard. The serial number is T60013. Anyone know about this particular breed, value, etc would be helpful.

The serial number indicates it would have been made in 1961. It sounds like a Supreme based on the limited description.
