Tuesday Opry matinees

Post by Janice Brooks »

NASHVILLE: In anticipation of increased summer activity, the Grand Ole
Opry added Tuesday Opry matinees to its summer schedule. Beginning on
June 20th and running through August 8th guests can catch their favorite
Opry stars Tuesday afternoons at 3:00pm on the Opry stage. Opry legend
Loretta Lynn is scheduled to help kick off the matinee run with a June
20th performance.

"With the addition of Tuesday matinees to the Opry's show schedule,
we're providing even more reasons to visit us in Nashville this summer,"
said Pete Fisher, Opry General Manager. "These shows will perfectly
compliment the other excitement around the Opry House - recently
announced Grand Ole Opry75th Anniversary events, the new Opry Mills
retail entertainment center, a full schedule of shows in the nearby
Acuff Theatre and more. Whether it's a group or Nashville family who
would like an afternoon Opry experience or Nashville visitors in town
for only a few days, we're excited to be able to offer this Tuesday
opportunity."

That's nice that they are having a weekday show, but why Tuesday??? Monday and Tuesday were always the days of the week with the least number of tourists.
