I am a bass player who picked up an 8 string guyatone which I am playing around with.
Friend (pedal player) pointed me here and said I could pick somebodies brain about playing non-pedal steel. Expect I will be doing that in the months ahead.
Right now, just wanted to stop by and say hello!

Hi Al,
I'm fairly new to steel guitar and I've gotten a ton of info from the forumites here. One thing I've learned is: ask ANY question, and someone around here will most likely have an answer for you.

Send me an email if you want to share info with a fellow novice. I play an 8-string Melobar (tuned C6), and Dobro.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
