You don't have to sell anything you don't want to sell. Tell the buyer you changed your mind and can't part with it. I wouldn't try and sell anything to him again, but that's your penance. Don't sweat it. It happens.

If it was me, I'd have to do the deal I agreed to.

As above, don't sweat it.

Your word is only as good as you want it, or need it to be.

Lots of people care less and less about it considering the world is ending anyhow..

Don,

I checked your profile and I may have to ammend my comments. You say your occupation is luthier. If you are making your living by selling instruments, than that is a different animal and welching on the deal could have direct consequences on your business. In that case, I think I would suck it up and go through with the deal.

As usual, it might help to reflect on how you'd feel if you were on the other end of the deal...

I'm not one to give advice but the phrase "Do unto others" does come to mind. Good luck and God bless.

I think although I'd feel an obligation to sell it...I'd tell the guy he can sure still buy it but that you've had some second thoughts about letting it go. He just might be the kind of guy that gives you grace and lets you off the hook.

Appreciate the view that all have put forth, and have made a decision. Bob, you can close this. Thanks
